The spaces we live in, shape our lives

As an Architect, I understand the importance of good building design.

I know the value well designed buildings can bring, for home owners, self builders, developers or business owners.

We spend 87% of our lives inside buildings.

The way buildings are designed has a profound effect on us. The way we live and work. How we think. How we feel.

It makes sense to invest time and effort in the design of your building, whether it’s a simple extension, a new build “Grand Designs” home or a place of work.

After all, buildings are expensive and complicated. Buildings last a long time.

Well designed buildings can improve our lives. They are more desirable. More valuable.

What makes a good building ?

It’s difficult to define, but we know one when we find one.

They work well. They look interesting. They make us feel good.

When designing a building for my clients, I’m designing their future lives.

We will only design this building once. We have one chance to get it right.

Case Studies

Your project

Client focused.

A building project can be a daunting prospect, especially if you haven’t done it before.

It’s a significant investment. There are risks involved.

It makes sense to get professional advice to guide you on the journey.

As an Architect, this is what I do. I understand the issues, and act as your partner in the process.

I listen to what you need, and understand how you want to live and work.

I use my experience to bring a clarity of thought to find appropriate solutions for your needs, hopes and budget.

Together we will create a vision for your future.

I use 3D design software to help you understand the design, and video meetings to allow us to design it together.

Getting approval.

Getting planning permission is the number one concern for clients. No Planning permission means no project.

I have a 98 % success rate (2007 to present), so rest assured you’re in good hands. I have a wealth of experience to navigate the planning approval process.

Buildings last a long time, buildings are expensive, and we have one chance to do this.

Let’s get it right.

Making it happen.

An Architect’s job is not just about designing buildings.

It includes turning those drawings into bricks and mortar.

Co-ordinating with consultants and suppliers.

Working with builders to make it happen.

I have the contacts and experience to help bring the project to life, and navigate the sometimes challenging construction process, from the first sketch of an idea to the completed building.

I guide you through the process to avoid the pitfalls.

You might wish to find your own builders and deliver the building yourself. No problem, I can be involved as much or as little as you wish, it’s up to you.

What my clients say

“Ed was great - really helped guide us to the right vision for our project and willing to work with us to iterate throughout.
He also stayed in touch during the build to make sure it went to plan and bridged communication with them and the engineers”

— Alex Brockhurst, Google Review

“Edward managed to guide us through a very difficult planning application , even attending a council planning hearing , and speaking on our behalf which resulted in our application being awarded to our specifications . We found his guidance, knowledge , ideas and professionalism , very helpful , especially having a bad experience with building works previously . We are very satisfied with the layout of our extension that Edward had planned out for us and would have no hesitation in recommending his services to anyone . A very warm and friendly personnel service , would definitely use his services again .”

— Ken Jones, Google Review

“My project was quite an extensive domestic home extension and refurbishment. The emphasis was on the design of a more modern Cotswold home. Edward was very collaborative and great to work with. From his first concepts, right the way through planning application, technical designs and build. What we ended up with was a stunning home that is sympathetic to the street it’s in, yet it stands out. Very few people pass By without passing on a compliment. So proud!”

— John Glover, Google Review
